Panic Attacks- Can I Cause One?

Strange as it may seem, I could actually be causing my own panic attacks. Let's see how that could be possible.

Among the broad factors found responsible for causing panic attacks are heredity, external circumstantial factors and the unique personal ways in which we and our bodies react to them.

Often, people who have a history of panic disorder in their families experience the disorder themselves. It is not that heredity will certainly cause panic attack disorder but it increases the chance.

Other causes are external in nature and include traumatic life events, extreme thinking that causes a shift in bodily functions, certain medications and even conditions like hypoglycemia.

We may cause our own panics in several ways. Most often by worrying and anticipating about things too much. We may be too much anxious about the numerous things that are almost always ready at hand for someone to get anxious. The well known what-if syndrome is the culprit most of the times. The what-ifs can actually be endless. What if I lose control? What if something terrible happens? What if no one welcomes me?

When your body also starts to respond to all this negative pattern of thinking, the problem gets worse. A panic attack can shoot up your blood pressure, cause profuse sweating and you may find everything getting very confusing. During panic attacks excessive adrenaline may get produced too. That would make everything deteriorate. But you must realize that you’re worrying about things that might never actually happen, and you must break this cycle of thought pattern that sets in the process before you get a full fledged attack.

Panic attacks are very distressing. Most cases do not require medication, which is a sort of last resort. A new way of driving away panic attacks from your life is around. You could take a look at that.
